Village of Lanquais

This beautiful medieval village is situated in the Dordogne department of South West France.

Just 20 minutes from Bergerac Airport, and 2 hours from the regional Capital of Bordeaux, the local market town of Lalinde is just a few minutes drive away.

The village is dominated by an imposing Chateau which originates from the 14th Century and boasts later additions by the designer of the Louvre museum in Paris. Other historical buildings in the village include The Presbytery, the 12th Century church of the Notre Dame de L’Assumption and an ancient gaol.

The village has the benefit of a restaurant which is open year-round, offering local French cuisine and is popular with locals and visitors alike.

“Wow, wow, wow – what can we say? The most awesome, but tranquil venue for our reunion. Hospitality second to none and we are all so refreshed and relaxed. So sad to leave but we will definitely be back for more exploration, fun, fab food and wine.

“We enjoyed an excellent stay at Retreat au Numéro 8. Our host was very attentive whilst remaining discreet. Lovely outdoor spaces are available so we could always find the best spot to enjoy the peaceful views and the sunshine. The Gîté is absolutely charming, tastefully restored and decorated, with a very well equipped kitchen and top quality bedding. The swimming pool is also extremely pleasant. If you are looking for a relaxing break we warmly recommend you to book your next stay at Ali’s”.
